Katie Danner-Demmin, MEd. provides training and support to over 130 teaching staff and the center directors on a number of topics, including accreditation, licensing, curriculum, assessment and leadership. Ms. Danner-Demmin started working for KCAA in 2004, and received her Master’s in Early Childhood Education at the University of Hawaii, Mānoa in 2008. She has over 18 years of experience in early childhood education and family support services as a teacher for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, as well as a parent educator and staff trainer. Katie says, “I believe that the more positive attention, respect, investment, and support that we give early on to children, the more likely they will grow to be positive, respectful, invested, and supportive adults. When children learn to love learning and being in school, they are prepared for a lifetime of success.”
Cindy Ballard tracks and monitors the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS) required training hours for all staff, develops and maintains asynchronous online training through KCAA’s Learning Management System. She has been employed with KCAA for 1 year. Ms. Ballard has over 20 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education field. Her last position was at PATCH as the Professional Development Manager where she managed the Infant and Toddler and Training contracts for the State of Hawaii Department of Human Services (DHS).
